Jaunty Notifications and UNR

Upgraded to Ubuntu Jaunty (beta) the other day. Enjoying the new notifications system.
Created on 28th March 2009 07:58 PM. Ubuntu
It's funny how small things like this can make a big difference to the overall feel of the desktop. Wasn't expecting to think anything of it, but as it turns out, I really like it. Also tried Ubuntu Netbook Remix (UNR) via a live USB key on my new HP Mini 1000 - pretty nice, actually. I may well end up installing this over the top of the current custom HP interface, that's based on Ubuntu Hardy. Why? Quicker bootup time is another nice feature of Jaunty, and I prefer the "Favourite Applications" setup in the standard UNR to the way the HP interface does it. Will have to check how the special keys on my HP Mini are handled in UNR.
